Challenge

The brand’s online revenue was growing fast, but its off-the-shelf e-commerce platform couldn’t support a custom membership program or the brand’s own marketing campaigns, and processing and reconciling orders depended heavily on manual work.

Approach

We split the project into two parts and designed them side by side: what customers see, and what the team uses every day.

  • Shopping experience: We redesigned the product pages and checkout mobile-first, cutting every step that didn’t need to be there.
  • Back office: Orders, membership tiers, coupons, product bundles and campaigns are managed in one place, and everyday tasks can be handled in batches.
  • Integrations: We connected payments, shipping and Taiwan’s government e-invoice system (every sale in Taiwan must be issued an official electronic receipt), and automated bank-transfer reconciliation and shipping notifications. Bank transfer is still a popular way to pay online in Taiwan, and matching each transfer to its order used to be done by hand.

Results

The team now spends far less time processing orders, and campaigns go from plan to launch without any engineering help. For the first time, the brand can make decisions based on its own membership data.
